Gemwork Radio is the flagship radio show of the DNKYBongsTV Network — a weekly broadcast built around independent music, the artists making it, and the culture it comes from. Every episode pairs new releases with conversation: where a record came from, who played on it, what it cost the artist to finish it, and why it matters right now. If you came here looking for underground hip hop that hasn’t been sanded down for a playlist algorithm, this is the room.

The show runs on a simple premise. Independent artists rarely get the airtime their work deserves, and the platforms that do reach listeners are optimised for volume rather than depth. Gemwork Radio inverts that. Records get introduced, contextualised and given room to breathe. Artists get asked real questions. Listeners get the story behind the sound instead of a thirty-second preview.

What You’ll Hear Each Week

A typical Gemwork Radio episode moves through four things. First, new music — unreleased and recently released tracks from artists across the network and beyond, including cuts from Grown RenegadeZ Music, Last Kind Recordz and LK Jazz. Second, interviews — producers, engineers, MCs, vocalists and the people behind the boards, talking about process rather than press releases. Third, culture conversation — what’s shifting in independent music, what the business is doing to artists, and what artists are doing back. Gemwork Radio sits alongside the network’s other work rather than apart from it. Coverage that starts as a conversation on the show often continues as reporting in G.U.M.M. There’s no fee and no gatekeeping ritual — the work either connects or it doesn’t.
