About Last Kind Recordz

Last Kind Recordz is the DNKYBongsTV Network imprint built for artists at the start of the run. Where the network’s other labels work with established catalogues, Last Kind Recordz exists to give new and independent artists a first real release — properly mixed, properly credited, properly serviced to radio and DJs.

Most emerging artists don’t fail for lack of talent. They fail because nobody showed them the unglamorous half of the job: how a master gets registered, why an instrumental matters, what a DJ actually needs to play your record, how coverage happens. Last Kind Recordz treats that half as part of the deal rather than the artist’s problem.

Who the Label Is For

The imprint looks for artists with one finished, convincing record and no infrastructure behind it. That includes rappers, singers, producers and beatmakers working in underground hip hop, boom bap, soul and the territory between them. Prior releases aren’t required. A following isn’t required. A finished record is.

What an Artist Gets

A Last Kind Recordz release comes with a defined package. Distribution and correct metadata, so the record is findable and the credits survive. First play and context on Gemwork Radio. Servicing to approved DJs through DJ Access, including clean versions and instrumentals. Editorial consideration at G.U.M.M. Magazine, written independently of the label. And where an artist has two strong candidates for a debut single, a round in Sound Check to let listeners pick the order.

Where It Sits on the Network

Last Kind Recordz is one of three imprints. Grown RenegadeZ Music handles independent hip-hop and R&B from established artists, and LK Jazz covers jazz and live-instrumentation work. Artists frequently move between them as their catalogue grows — a debut on Last Kind Recordz is a starting point, not a ceiling.

Submitting to Last Kind Recordz

Submissions are open and free. Send finished, mastered audio with the title, artist name, features and credits, plus a short note on what the record is and where it came from. Mention any clean versions or instrumentals — their absence is the most common reason a good debut doesn’t get serviced to DJs. Submit music through the network form and name the imprint.
